Alter-M is a
parallel[/b] universe to that of the Marvel Universe. It is an
alternate[/i] universe. Some things may seem familiar, some may be radically different, but it is all about Marvel. It is a fan site for fans of the Marvel Universe, but for those who are bored with the mainstream one. It takes place in a parallel universe of the modern Marvel Universe. Maybe you liked the way a storyline/character development was going, but another writer changed it, maybe you liked a costume concept and would like a character with that costume design, or maybe you hated something that was done with a character and you'd like to change it. You can do so here, it's how I got started making this site.
However, you don’t have to be a comic book know-it-all to play. You may make up a new character to play in this alternate universe. Also, if you would like to familiarize yourself with a character or the Marvel Universe in general, simply use
Wikipedia or the
Marvel Database They are valuable resources for those looking up information and to get
ideas.[/i]
A few characters may have pre-disposed roles to play in order to follow the plot of the Alter-M Universe. However, you'll likely be able to alter some of this if it is done well or I simply like the idea. Most likely, as long as it is not done poorly, the info/bio could be changed to what you would like, instead of what I have written. You do NOT have to join a team, faction, or movement.
Will Rogue be able to break Apocalypse’s hold on her and return to her friends? Will Mystique get her revenge? Who is Cyclops, really? What is he up to? Will Havok become totally evil? Will S.H.I.E.L.D. be able to keep control of its mutant team, X-Force? Will Spider-Man keep killing? Join the site and become a superhero or a supervillain, just a person with powers, or a flatscan trying to live in this world!!!
